Constanze Deutsch

I draw on paper and my work is figurative. Nude drawings are used as the basis for my compositions. Then I ‘flood’ the paper with contents correlating to the context of the pictorial world.

One thing leads to another, similar to a conversation, until I decide my work to be finished. Other than in a conversation, the differently depicted contents appear simultaneously on my sheets, sending their diverse messages at the same time. There are letters as typography and script as comments. I also quote pictures of Art history by working with pop–cultural references, personal issues and basically everything that surrounds me. Using my own visual memory is very important when defining my perception as the highest existing authority.
